New Quantum Break Gameplay Shows More Story, Gameplay Detail

by Eric Frederiksen | October 24, 2014October 24, 2014 1:30 pm PDT

Remedy Entertainment has released, via IGN, a new demo of its upcoming action game Quantum Break. At first glance, it might look a lot like the demo we saw at GamesCom, but there’s a lot more to it.

The first 10 minutes show a bit more detail than the original, and the last six minutes or so are all new footage. The new segment focuses on some of the non-combat elements of the game. In this case, protagonist Jack Joyce is trying to make it across a bridge that’s in the process of being torn apart by a runaway freight ship. To make it across in one piece, you have to work within and manipulate the time stutter Jack is caught in.

The whole video is narrated by Remedy Entertainment’s Sam Lake, writer of this game as well as Alan Wake and the first two Max Payne games. Look for an Easter egg near the end of the video to remind you of the game’s heritage – or an excuse to pretend this game takes place in the same world as Max Payne.
