When will Google release Android 5.0 Lollipop to the public? That’s a very good question indeed, and one we didn’t have much insight into until today.
Previously, Google had only confirmed that Android 5.0 Lollipop will launch on the Nexus 6 and the Nexus 9, and that updates will be available for several other Nexus and Google Play Edition products. Now it sounds like we have something to bite into.
Android Police received an e-mail from Google that was sent to developers alerting them about the availability of the Android 5.0 Lollipop SDK. In it, however, Google outright says: “Before Android 5.0 is available to consumers on November 3, we recommend that you test your apps and publish any needed updates to the Play Store.”
No huge surprise there, since that’s when Google is also launching the Nexus 9, but maybe we’ll also be treated to a software update for existing Nexus devices on the same date. At this point we don’t know for sure, but Google obviously wants developers prepped ahead of time.
