Mistwalker and Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi’s free-to-play strategy RPG Terra Battle has been doing quite well for itself since release earlier this month. Already, the company is celebrating 850,000 individual downloads, and positive press has not stopped pouring in.
Keeping with the goals that Mistwalker promised when it first announced the game, 850,000 downloads makes sure that a strategy guide will hit development. This is the first practical reward with previous ones all pointing to new characters from the game’s designers. Next is the 900,000 goal, which will allow for a soundtrack to be published with music from none other than Final Fantasy composer Nobuo Uematsu.
The ultimate goal for Mistalker though is 2 million downloads. When it reaches this lofty goal, it stated intensions to port the game to modern consoles, bringing Sakaguchi back into the limelight where he belongs. Other goodies include a Hironobu Sakaguchi boss battle at 1.1 million and a new scenario from Final Fantasy Tactics Director Yasumi Matsuno at 1.5 million.
With no signs of slowing down and hitting impressive sales figures only several weeks after launch, it seems that Mistwalker achieving all of these goals will only be a matter of time. Best of luck!
