The total and complete truth? I have never played any of the Shantae games. In fact, up until the last year or so, I’d never even heard of the series. That stands despite my knowledge and like of its developer, Wayforward.
There’s a reason why I’m actually looking forward to Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse, though. That reason is Ron Duwell, one of the gaming writers here. He’s been all over this game, constantly recommending its predecessors to our readers and presenting each nugget of news for the title as it comes.
He’s likely going to be mad at me now that I’ve posted one of its newest trailers, specifically for a character named Ammo Baron, but I think he’ll get over it. He’ll probably just be jazzed to know that I’m going to nab the game on the Nintendo 3DS once it comes out.
I did play a demo for Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse a while back. It’s been delayed several times since then, but it did feel absolutely wonderful during my limited time playing it.
We’ll have a chance to buy and play the full game when it comes out on Oct. 23. Yes, Thursday. Wait, Thursday!? That came on fast.
