Hopefully your gifts arrive on time this year. When they do, you might want to thank one of Amazon’s new employees. The e-tailer is reportedly ramping up its workforce with 80,000 news hires soon in anticipation of a busy holiday shopping season.

The employees will work in Amazon’s distribution centers, the Associated Press said on Thursday, noting that Amazon now has a total of 50 around the United States, ten more than were open last year. Amazon’s temporary hiring spree includes 10,000 more workers than Amazon hired in 2013.

The news outlet said that Amazon has boosted its efforts this year to offset some of the issues that it ran into last year when shipment partners couldn’t handle all of the orders placed at once, particularly for orders that were placed by Amazon Prime customers with guaranteed two-day shipping. We’ll see if 80,000 extra workers is enough.
