Google recently published three new advertisements for Android ahead of the full launch of Android L and the possible Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 announcements sometime this week, The clips all have one clear message at the end: be together, not the same. It sounds like a clear jab at iOS to us.
Android is available for “all kinds of phones,” one ad prominently tells the viewer, showing that there are a variety of sizes, colors and manufacturers to choose from and that it’s not a one-size fits all operating system. The message seems to suggest that iOS is only available on Apple products and therefore is always the same. To be fair, yes, Apple’s operating system is locked down to its own devices, though there are at least a couple of sizes and a few colors to choose from.
The ads are fun and light-hearted. One features a large dance party, another shows a small man answering a massive smartphone (Nexus 6?) at a bus stop, and the third shows a partying road-trip of Android robots. Check out all three clips below.
