Resident Evil Revelations 2 Producer Michiteru Okabe confirmed at a panel at New York Comic-Con that fans who pre-order the game on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 will have free access to extra content the sub-series’ popular Raid Mode.
The “Raid Mode Throwback” pack will include levels found in Resident Evil Revelations HD’s Raid Mode as well levels themed after more recent Resident Evil games. For game pack’s sake, I hope Okabe was referring to Resident Evil remakes of the earlier, better games and not Resident Evil 6.
For those new to the Revelations, Raid Mode is a simple co-op affair which drops two different characters into certain sections of the campaign’s maps. Players both cooperate to survive and compete for EXP bonuses. The mode has proven to be very popular on both the Nintendo 3DS and console versions of the game, and its a nice substitute for the main games’ Mercenaries mode.
Pre-orders for the PlayStation 4 version go live this week on October 14th, and the PlayStation 3 version will also be added later this month. Okabe did not mention when pre-orders for the Xbox or PC versions will be available.
