Sharp Aquos Crystal Finally Available to Purchase

by Jacob Kleinman | October 10, 2014October 10, 2014 11:00 am PDT

Sharp’s amazing Aquos Crystal with its nearly edgeless design is finally available here in the U.S. Sprint first announced the device back in August. You can buy the new phone today from Boost Mobile starting at $149.99, while Sprint will offer the device starting on Oct. 17.

The Sharp Aquos Crystal can’t compete with the latest flagship phones when it comes to hardware, but the Japanese company has come up with a pretty unique design that might be enough to win you over. Besides a strip along the bottom of the device there’s no bezel to be seen. It makes for a futuristic looking handset that will definitely turn a few heads.

On the other hand, you’re only getting a 5-inch 720p display, a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 processor and 1.5GB of RAM, which means it might not offer the smoothest Android experience. The phone also comes equipped with a decent 2400mAh battery, an 8-megapixel rear camera, a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera and is available in black and white options.

If you want to pick up the Sharp Aquos Crystal right now head to Boost Mobile. If you’d rather wait for Sprint to offer the device, you’ll have two options to choose from. You can pay $149.99 plus taxes upfront for the phone, or buy it subsidized for $0 down and 24 monthly payments of $10. The prepaid Sprint option will also be available at Best Buy starting on Oct. 10 and at RadioShack on Oct. 21.
