Originally known as Wizard in Halo: CE, this map returned as Warlock in Halo 2. It was then remade once more as Magus in Halo: Reach. While it doesn’t rank as one of my personal favorites, saying it’s loved by fans is an understatement.
In Halo: The Master Chief Collection, it’s becoming Warlord, and it’s the last map to join the pool of re-imagined efforts. That pool, by the way, includes Ascension, Coagulation, Zanzibar, Sanctuary and Lockout. Yes, those are some amazing maps.
343 Industries and the Xbox Wire have provided a glimpse of the new Warlord in action. It looks as good as I remember, and all of these map previews have made us thirsty for a glorious return to classic Halo 2 multiplayer. I don’t think I played any other game online as much as this one in college.
Warlord is just one of more than 100 multiplayer maps shipping with Halo: The Master Chief collection on Nov. 11, 2014. Oh yeah, the game also features the campaigns from Halo: CE, Halo 2, Halo 3 and Halo 4. That’s crazy, isn’t it?
