HTC just announced the HTC Desire EYE, a brand new mid-range flagship handset with a plastic body and unique dual 13-megapixel cameras. The device will allow you to shoot 13-megapixel pictures, complete with a front-facing dual-LED flash, in addition to snapping 13-megapixel standard photos with the rear camera.

It’s a compelling smartphone with a great design that’s also water resistant and we have good news for U.S. customers. HTC announced on Wednesday that AT&T will sell the device exclusively at launch in the United States. Customers will be able to enjoy some flagship specs, including a Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB of RAM and even BoomSound speakers, which HTC managed to squeeze in between the top and bottom ends of the 5.2-inch 1080p display.

It’s certainly a compelling device and we can’t wait to spend some time with a review unit. HTC didn’t provide a specific launch date or pricing for the Desire EYE but we suspect we’ll hear more soon.
