LG’s latest budget-friendly smartphone, the Tribute, is now available on Virgin Mobile, priced at just $79.99 on a prepaid plan. The device comes with Android 4.4 KitKat pre-installed, and it has decent specifications for an entry-level device.
In addition to its 4.5-inch WVGA (800×480) display, the Tribute packs a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, and a microSD card slot. Users also get a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with 1080p video recording, and 4G LTE connectivity.
The Tribute boasts a number of LG’s flagship software features, including Touch & Shoot, and Knock Code, which lets you unlock your device by tapping different areas of the display.
While it doesn’t quite have the ingredients to compete with handsets like the Galaxy S5 and LG’s own G3, then, the Tribute is still a capable device that’ll run the vast majority of Android apps pretty smoothly. It’s also excellently priced at $79.99 off-contract.
You can order the Tribute now from Virgin Mobile, and rumor has it the device will soon be available through Sprint as well.
