We’re used to seeing new smartphones leak out ahead of schedule, but now it looks like we may be entering the age of leaked cars. That’s right, cars. Tesla’s upcoming “D” product was apparently photographed in the wild and uploaded to a Tesla Motors fan forum on Thursday.
From the looks of it, the Tesla “D” won’t be an entirely new car. Instead, it appears to be an updated version of the company’s original car, now called the Model S P85D. Rumor has it the new electric vehicle will offer some extra perks introduced with the Model X SUV, including all-wheel drive, an extra motor and more battery power.
Tesla is also set to announce a more affordable Model III car sometime next year, but it looks like the focus of next week’s event will be a new and improved version of Model S. The company also promised “something else,” though it’s unclear exactly what that might be. Rumor has it the car-maker has been working on a smaller version of the Model X, so maybe we’ll hear more about that. It’s also possible the news might not be about a new car at all.
