Tesco Hudl2 Tablet Unveiled With Big Improvements

Tesco on Friday officially introduced the hudl2, its second-generation tablet that it will sell direct to consumers in its stores. It offers plenty of improvements over the first generation hudl tablet and still comes in at an awesome price.

The hudl2 is equipped with an 8.3-inch display with a 1920 x 1200-pixel resolution and a quad-core Intel Atom processor clocked at 1.83GHz. You’ll also find Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box, stereo speakers, a 5-megapixel camera, a 1.2-megapixel front-facing shooter, 16GB of storage that can be expanded with a 32GB microSD card, dual-band Wi-Fi and up to 8 hours of battery life. By comparison, the first hudl had a smaller 7-inch display with a lower resolution, a slower processor and a 3-megapixel camera, though it weighed less and promised an extra hour of battery life.

Tesco will sell the hudl2 in blue, orange, black, red, orange, white, purple and pink in more than 800 Tesco locations starting on Oct. 9. The tablet will retail for a super affordable £129 ($205), though that’s a bit pricier than the £99 price of the first hudl tablet.
