T-Mobile on Thursday announced that it would carry the Lumia 530 starting on Oct. 15 for just $79.20. The Lumia 530 was announced in July of this year as the successor to the popular Lumia 520/Lumia 521, the most successful Windows Phone devices to date. The Lumia 530 isn’t exactly a flagship like the Lumia 930 or even the new Lumia 830, which ships this week, but it offers a solid package at its price point.

The Lumia 530 runs Windows Phone 8.1, the newest release, which means you’ll have access to the Cortana voice assistant, brand new notifications and more customization options than ever before. Under the hood you’ll find a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 chip, 4GB of storage that can be expanded with up to a 128GB microSD card and 512MB of RAM. It’s also equipped with a 4-inch 854 x 480-pixel screen and a 5-megapixel camera. Unfortunately, the Lumia 530 does not support 4G LTE networks, so you won’t be able to surf on the faster network offered by T-Mobile.

T-Mobile also said that the Lumia 530 would hit Best Buy and Microsoft store locations on Oct. 5, ahead of its official launch on T-Mobile on Oct. 15.
