BioWare Explains How To Shape Your Own Weapons in Dragon Age: Inquisition

Dragon Age: Inquisition is the biggest RPG of the year, and I don’t just mean that in terms of hype and expectations. I mean, it is literally the biggest RPG of the year in terms of size and options available to you in this fantasy world. BioWare has gone off the deep end in terms of how open-ended an RPG can truly be, and it has a new trailer to explain its weapon system to you.

Character races and classes are at the middle of the game, just as it was with previous entries as well.  You will have a choice of four races to choose from, and your selection of approach to combat will determine much of the game’s outlook. However, the choices don’t simply stop there.

Alchemy, blacksmithing, crafting and lock-picking are all part of this game, and each will provide you with the chance to make weapons that rival the powers of those only heard about in stories. Buy them from merchants, steal them from enemies, reclaim them from hordes, or just straight up shape them on your own. There is no shortage of options on how to obtain tools of murder in this game.

Of course, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is the standard by which we judge open-ended RPGs in this day and age, and both Dragon Age: Inquisition and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt are bound to take stabs at replacing it.

Dragon Age: Inquisition will be released for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC on Nov. 18.
