Last week a few photos of HTC’s rumored action cam, allegedly called the Re Camera, leaked out on an official website teasing the upcoming gadget. Now it looks like the FCC has approved the new device just ahead of its rumored launch next week.
Rumor has it the RE Camera will feature a rugged, water-proof design that’s shaped like a bent metal pipe. Today’s FCC filing doesn’t reveal much else about the device, though it looks like the new action cam will support both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. We’ve also heard HTC could release a new app that works with the RE Camera, though it should be able to sync with both Android and iOS smartphones.
HTC has a press event scheduled for next week on Oct. 8 and the company’s already hinted that it has some camera-focused news to share. Rumor has it the firm could also unveil a new variant of the One (M8) smartphone with a beefed up camera apparently called the M8 EYE.
We’ll be covering HTC’s big announcement live from New York, so check back then for our full coverage on all the new products that are unveiled.
