Note Edge: Leaked Price Suggests it Wont Be Cheap

by Jacob Kleinman | September 29, 2014

Samsung still hasn’t told us how much the Galaxy Note Edge will cost when it hits the market, but one British retailer is already taking pre-orders for the futuristic new smartphone. Clove opened up pre-orders for the “limited edition concept” device on Sunday, pricing the new phone at £650 (roughly $1055) with tax included. By comparison, Clove is offering the Note 4 for £575 ($935).

That price may be a huge turnoff for most people, but there are a few things to consider before you make a final decision. First, Clove notes that the official price and release date are still up in the air, meaning the cost could drop a bit before launch. Second, the Note Edge isn’t officially shipping to the U.K., meaning Clove has to source the device from other European countries.

The Galaxy Note Edge is a pretty cool phone and offers the same flagship specs found in the Note 4 with one big twist. The high-def display actually curves around on the right side, offering an extra sliver of screen space where you can see incoming notifications, weather updates, Twitter trends and more. Samsung also lets you customize what shows up on the side of your device through a new settings menu.

If you’re the type of person who always wants to have the new cool thing, the Note Edge may be the device for you, though hopefully this phone doesn’t cost quite as much as Clove is predicting when it’s finally released.
