In an October that commands a solid amount of new and exciting video games, the Xbox Games with Gold roster feels rather weak. We have three games to choose from, one new ID@Xbox title and two Xbox 360 games that Microsoft calls “classics.”
Chariot is the ID@Xbox title, and it’s the only Games with Gold affair for the Xbox One this coming month. This cooperative experience looks a little crazy, and if you have an extra controller and room on your couch for another player, it might be awesome. You can see the trailer for it at the head of this post.
The next two games, while I won’t call them “classics,” should be mighty familiar to a lot of gamers out there. They’re both for the Xbox 360, and they both did fairly well in their time.
We have Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and Darksiders II to choose from. One is a military shooter (that’s actually pretty fun), and the other is a strange blend of God of War and Zelda that works perfectly. If you haven’t played these games before, nab them. They’re good.
Though, honestly, you can find them for threes of dollars online if you don’t have an Xbox or a Gold subscription.
What do you think of this month’s offerings in the Games with Gold program? I’m not too impressed, though I have a billion other things to play already.
