Retro RPG Pier Solar Sets a Release Date

If you love retro RPGs, Pier Solar and the Great Architects has probably been on your radar for a while now.

Pier Solar, from developer WaterMelon, started out ten years ago as a homebrew game before the indie revolution began. The game is intended to be a callback to some of the great RPGs for the Sega Genesis (Mega Drive for our readers in Europe), complete with Genesis graphics – as well as HD graphics – and turn based combat.

If you’re planning to play the game on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Steam – or you’re one of the few people with an Ouya – then you’re in luck. The game hits the digital marketplaces for those platforms in just six days – September 30. Those of you waiting for the Xbox One, Wii U or – yes, really – Sega Dreamcast releases will have to wait, as the release date should be announced next month.
