Ori and the Blind Forest has been touted by Microsoft as one of the most emotional games from their Xbox One and PC lineup announced at E3. They took to the Tokyo Game Show this week to highlight that level of emotion in a new look at the game’s prologue.
The video shows off a lot of what we should expect from the onset of this supposedly emotional affair. The world personally reminds me a lot of what we saw in Child of Light, though obviously with a different art style. Will Ori and the Blind Forest pack a similar tone?
Not to get to silly here, but the voice in the intro made me think the game was being narrated by Jabba the Hutt. You know, the scene when Han wakes up and Jabba tells him he’s going to be executed? Yeah, got huge vibes of that from the dialogue there.
Ori and the Blind Forest does look beautiful, though. The way the storm moves the bushes in the environment during that early bit of play? That looks wonderful.
Ori and the Blind Forest is set to hit the Xbox One and PC platforms later this year. We’ll have more on the game as it comes.
