Microsoft Unveils Wired Xbox One PC Controller

Microsoft has announced a Windows-branded Xbox One controller.

Well, not so much ‘announced’ as just put it out there – a listing with a Coming Soon release date appeared this week in Microsoft’s store for a “Xbox One Controller + Cable for Windows.”

So, how is this different from just buying an Xbox One controller?

Well, you get a 9′ USB cable with a white LED on it. That’s pretty much it. The controller is compatible with the Xbox One. Presumably it comes with a CD to install the drivers as well. If you’re on the lookout for a new Xbox One controller and need a new USB cable, this controller costs the same as the standard Xbox One controller at $59.95.

The reason this exists, most likely, is to give retailers something to put with PC gaming accessories, rather than risking those gamers getting distracted by some other controller. If you want that cable, the controller should be on sale soon.
