Nuance on Wednesday announced that its incredibly popular Swype keyboard is now available for iOS 8 users. That only includes folks with developer installs right now, but Apple is releasing the new operating system to the masses later today, which means you’ll be able to install Swype and give it a whirl.
One of the best updates in iOS 8, we think, is the new option to add third-party keyboards, a feature that has been available for Android users for years. Swype for iOS 8 will support the iPhones, iPads and iPod touch devices running the latest operating system. It also features gesture-based punctuation, next-word prediction and adaptive learning vocabulary that “learns the words and phrases users use the most so they automatically appear as they input text.”
Swype for iOS 8 initially ships with 5 themes and support for English, French, Italian, German and Spanish, though Nuance promises new languages and themes are coming. It will cost 99 cents, and you should be able to find it as soon as you have iOS 8 installed.
