It’s been about a year since Amazon updated its Kindle Paperwhite lineup but today we may be getting an early look at the company’s next 6-inch e-reader. A new device called the Kindle Voyage popped on Amazon’s German site on Wednesday morning, promising an improved 6-inch display with 300ppi and a potential November 4 release date.
Amazon quickly pulled the Kindle Voyage webpage offline, but not before German site allesebook.de could grab a quick screenshot of the device from its user manual. The design is almost identical to last year’s Paperwhite, though it’s apparently thinner at just 8mm and weighs 186 grams. The alleged e-reader’s killer new feature could be the ability to turn the page by pressing on the bezel along with what Amazon calls “intelligent front lighting.”
Today’s leak also offered some pricing details for the Kindle Voyage, though Amazon could tweak those details between now and November. The new e-reader should start at €189 for the Wi-Fi model or €249 for 3G. Hopefully we’ll get an official look at the Kindle Voyage in the not-too-distant future, though it could be a few more months until it actually hits the market.
