Sprint announced on Tuesday that it will soon offer the HTC Desire 510 on its network and across its two prepaid carriers, Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile. The device doesn’t offer today’s latest specs, but it does indeed come at an affordable off-contract price depending on how you decide to purchase it.
The Desire 510 is equipped with a 4.7-inch display, a 5-megapixel camera, a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, support for HD Voice and the Sprint Spark LTE network, a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and more. It will be available in blue from Sprint starting on Friday for $0 down with 24 monthly payments of $8.34 or for $199.99 up-front but with a service plan. Additionally, Boost Mobile will sell the HTC Desire 510 in white for $99.99 starting Sept. 22 in “exclusive retail stores,” and nationwide starting Sept. 23. Virgin Mobile will sell the blue HTC Desire 510 for $99.99 on Sept. 23.
The Desire 510 was introduced in August and is HTC’s most affordable LTE device to ever hit the market. With HD Voice and Spark LTE support, it’s not a bad choice for anyone shopping for a new Android device on a budget.
Update: For whatever reason, Sprint just tweaked the pricing of the HTC Desire 510 from $8.34 per month to $9 per month and from $199.99 up front to $216 up front.
