Has the release date for Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U been leaked? Twitter user BluesCriveBuster has published a photo of a pre-order card from American retailer Fred Meyer, claiming that the game will be released on November 21st.

Nintendo has not yet confirmed or commented on the leak, so this is just a rumor at this point. The suggested date though does match up with the official “Winter 2014” release window the company currently has planned, and it is also a Friday, the day Nintendo often likes to release big products.

However, Nintendo also has a bit of a conflict with Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire releasing on the same day. It does seem a little odd that Nintendo would release two major holiday releases on the same day, even if they are not on the same console. Perhaps it knows its fans are rabid enough to drop a substantial amount of money on two, or possibly three if they want both Pokemon copies, on the same day.

Keep in mind, this is all rumors and speculation until Nintendo officially comments, but a November 21st release date looks about right to me.

The Nintendo 3DS version is already officially scheduled to go live on October 3rd. A demo is scheduled for release on September 19th, but Platinum Club Nintendo members can check their email and possibly play it now.
