More than 1,000 Uber drivers in New York City are reportedly planning to strike against Uber. The issue? Low fares and unfavorable working conditions, according to BuzzFeed. The strike does not include all Uber drivers. Instead, it includes those who are part of an organized fellowship of drivers named “Uber Drivers Network NYC.”

Most of those prepared to strike, BuzzFeed said, drive black cars and the more expensive SUV options. They’re different than Uber X drivers who typically set their own schedules and drive their own cars.

Uber Drivers Network NYC is threatening to move over to competitor Lyft, which recently launched in New York City because some are being forced to take Uber X rides instead of accepting more premium, and more expensive, standard Uber requests. BuzzFeed also said a summer promotion for decreased Uber fares has also thinned out driver profits.

“They give us a 24 hour suspension and threaten that you will lose your chance with Uber,” one driver who spoke to BuzzFeed said, explaining what happens if a driver decides to pass on a cheaper Uber X fare. “To get a ride for $8.00, I’ll have to work the whole day. Gas and insurance for SUV’s are expensive. I have to pay $80 to $100 a day in gas.”

The strike is expected to begin on Monday.
