Metal Gear Solid is the only franchise out there that is allowed to have a teaser for a trailer. The hype for these games is almost as convoluted as the main plot itself, and anybody else who tries to follow the same path is just asking for trouble through comparisons.
Konami has promised a new trailer at Tokyo Game Show 2014 for the incoming Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, and just to capture your interest, here are 41 seconds of it. Quiet, the controversial female character with not many secrets despite how little she speaks, jumps from a helicopter in handcuffs before vanishing into thin air! She lands and reappears on the Diamond Dogs’ landing bay at Mother Base, free from her restraints, and soldiers rush to capture her…
…and that’s it! Don’t want to spoil too much, but Hideo Kojima is known for showing just precisely enough to steal whatever convention he brings his venerated series too.
Sadly, the game won’t be playable at Tokyo Game Show 2014, but we’ll be sure to bring you the full trailer whenever it goes live. You can expect it, along with live coverage from the floor in Japan next week on the 18th or 19th.
