Mega Man X4

The day has come, PlayStation fans! Just a friendly reminder that the biggest, most exciting releases of the year are upon us today, and you can enjoy them on your PlayStation 3, PS Vita or even PSP!

Wait… what did you think I was talking about? Destiny? No, that’s cool and all, but Mega Man X4 and X5 are digitally available on modern consoles for the first time. The duo of action games are lauded by longtime fans as the best and most advanced iterations of the Mega Man X formula. Tough bosses, great level design, excellent 32-bit special effects, and outstanding music on all levels. Dare I even say that Mega Man X5 is one of the more emotional tales you’ll see between two robot bros?

These games are so good that everyone’s favorite blue hero even learns how to duck in Mega Man X5 for the very first time!

At $5.99 each, Mega Man X4 and X5 are a steal considering how many countless gaming hours I sunk into them back when they were pushing the limits of video gaming technology. I still hold the original Mega Max X in higher regard for nostalgia reasons, and own it on my Wii U of course, but these two are really exceptional games from the PS1 Classics’ library.

Plus, Mega Man X5‘s introduction video is still as rockin’ as it was back in 2001. I’ll never get tired of that theme.
