Google has begun rolling out its first Android Wear software updates, and it seems Samsung’s Gear Live is top of its list. The Android Wear 4.4.W.1 release brings improvements to navigation and voice actions, and it’s expected to make its way to other smartwatches soon.

Recent reports promised that Android Wear updates would be coming soon, and although this certainly won’t be one of the biggest, it’s nice to see Google is already working to iron out some of the platform’s teething troubles before adding new features — such as offline music playback and support for GPS.

This particular release promises to “improve the navigation experience and some of the voice action experiences,” according to Android Central, and it comes just over two months after the Gear Live made its debut in Google Play. If you haven’t already received an update to say that this release is available to download over-the-air, then you can expect to see it soon.

It’s unclear why the Gear Live was chosen to receive this update ahead of other Android Wear watches, but the release is expected to arrive on the LG G Watch and the Moto 360 soon.
