“Quick, we need to make a mobile game out of a popular license!”
“Here, use SackBoy from LittleBigPlanet. Mobile game? Make it an endless runner.”
The conversations have to go like that, right? Whatever the case may be, LittleBigPlanet is bound for mobile platforms as an endless runner. The same game will also hit the PS Vita, if that’s something that you’re in to.
The PlayStation Blog has a bit of information about the offering. Regardless of the word choice, it sounds like an endless runner to me.
Using simple tap and swipe gestures, you’ll speed through three iconic worlds from the LittleBigPlanet series — The Gardens, The Canyons, and Avalonia — evading danger for as long you can. Anyone can enjoy the game, but as Sackboy charges along at top speed, you’re going to need super-quick reactions to keep him on course and out of trouble.
See that, “as Sackboy charges along at top speed.” That sounds like any other endless runner in the mobile space, just with a LittleBigPlanet coat of paint and set of mechanics.
Hey, like I said, if this sounds like something you’d play, have at it. Endless runners aren’t really my bag, so I’ll hold on for a proper LittleBigPlanet effort.
Run SackBoy! Run! is slated to release on PS Vita, iOS, and Android this October.
