First Look at Persona Q’s English Voice Overs In Duo of Trailers

We’ve seen quite a bit of information on Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth over the course of this year, but the one thing escaping us until today is the English localization. Atlus has finally released the first two English trailers for the Nintendo 3DS spin-off game, both of which star the lead protagonists of Persona 3 and Persona 4.

Generally with handheld RPGs, I tend to turn off the voice acting because I can read faster than the actors can speak, and I can soak up the information faster to get on with my game. The Persona series is special in that the brilliant acting behind the other characters has always fabulous job bringing each personality to life.

With these two characters though, it is especially jarring to hear them talk as they were both silent protagonists in their main games. The most dialogue either one ever in Persona 3 or Persona 4 saw was chosen by the players themselves. I’m not entirely digging the Persona 3 character’s voice and find his delivery really flat.

Persona 4‘s on the other hand is decent enough. He seems like a guy I’d like to hang out with. Him and his ridiculous stuffed bear. Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth launches for the Nintendo 3DS on Nov. 25, and we will more than likely hear from the rest of the cast before then. Stay tuned.
