Microsoft just announced the Lumia Denim update for Windows Phone during the IFA 2014 trade show in Berlin, and it followed that up with a new gadget: the Microsoft Screen Sharing for Lumia Phones HD-10. It’s a small disc device that connects to your TV or any other screen through an HDMI port.
To connect, simply tap your Lumia Windows Phone to the Microsoft Screen Sharing disc and, using NFC, it establishes a connection between your phone and the display, allowing you to stream content wirelessly. The product isn’t solely limited to Windows Phones, however. Microsoft said it works with Lumia smartphones that feature screen projection capabilities, in addition to Wi-Fi Certified Miracast products “on any operating system.” Microsoft imagines the device being perfect for presentations, sharing pictures on a larger display and more.
The Screen Sharing for Lumia Phones HD-10 will launch this month for $79 or EUR 79.
