Microsoft has plenty of announcements here at the IFA 2014 trade show in Berlin, one of which is a brand new wireless charging plate for its smartphones that support Qi wireless charging. The device is officially dubbed the Nokia Wireless Charging Plate DT-903, and its the second such model to launch.
It offers several improvements over the first model, including a notification light that glows depending on a missed alert, like an e-mail, an missed text message or an incoming call. Additionally, it features a “breathing light” if it notices that a phone paired to it has a battery charge lower than 30-percent. A solid light glows while a phone is charging, too.
Microsoft will sell the device for Lumia phones running Windows 8.1.1 with Bluetooth 4.0 or higher starting in October. It will retail for about $59 or €59 in orange, white and green.
