Samsung just announced the Galaxy Note Edge during IFA 2014 in Berlin, Germany. Those leaked rumors about the curved display and unique form factor are finally coming to fruition, because this device is essentially a Galaxy Note 4 but with a totally different display.
The device has a unique Curved AMOLED screen that runs down the side of the phone, essentially extending over the boarder. It allows you to run separate widgets, like Twitter and maybe the weather, for example, without taking up the real-estate the phone’s primary 5.6-inch display. Samsung will open up that area for developers so we can expect additional use cases in the future: imagine getting flight updates along that edge screen, or the most recent sports scores? It also packs an S Pen for jotting down notes, a large 3,000mAh battery and more.
We have a hands-on gallery coming at you soon and we’ll be bringing you hands-on video as soon as possible.
