Acer Unveils Aspire Switch 11, Updates Switch 10 Series

Acer on Wednesday announced a new Aspire Switch 11 two-in-one product and an update to its existing Aspire Switch 10 that delivers a full 1080p 10-inch display, during the IFA 2014 trade show in Berlin. If you’re unfamiliar with the devices, they offer four modes, including Notebook, Pad, Display and Tent, which means you can use them for work, entertainment, play and more.

The new Aspire Switch 11 offers an 11.6-inch display. Two models will be available to consumers when the device launches, including the Switch SW5-171, which can be configured with up to an Intel Core i5 processor, 4GB of RAM, a 128GB hard drive and a 1080p display. Meanwhile, the Switch SW5-111 offers a 1366 x 768-pixel display, an Intel Atom Z3645 quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, a 64GB drive a 2-megapixel front-facing camera and two USB ports. Both laptops run Windows 8.1 and offer microHDMI ports, 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, microSD card slots and more.

The Aspire Switch 11 will launch in Pan America starting at $399 in October, and in EMEA for  €399. The updated Switch 10 with its new 1080p display launches in September starting at $329 and in EMEA for €329.
