Acer announced two new convertible laptops during IFA 2014 in Berlin, including the Aspire R 13 and Aspire R 14.
The Acer Aspire R 13 (pictured above) offers what the company has dubbed an “Ezel Aero hinge,” that allows the device to convert into six different positions. Additionally, it features either a WQHD or FHD display, depending on the model you purchase, surround sound, up to 8 hours of battery life, up to 1TB of hard drive space, 8GB of memory and either an Intel Core i5 or Intel Core i7 processor. It will launch in October in Pan America starting at $899.99 and in November in EMEA starting at €899. The Aspire R 13 will launch in Asia as well, though pricing was not revealed for that market.
Meanwhile, the Aspire R 14 offers a 360-degree dual-torque hinge for usage in four different mode and a 1366 x 768-pixel display. It can be equipped with GeForce 820M graphics, a variety of Intel processors — Acer didn’t name the CPU options specifically — 12GB of RAM, 500GB or 1TB hard drives and more. The Aspire R 14 will launch in October in Pan America for $599.99, in EMEA in mid-October starting at €499 and will also launch in Asia, though Acer did not provide pricing.
