The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One have been, since their releases last November, in a neck-and-neck feature race. One picks up a feature, the other one plays catch-up.
Sony got pre-loading for digital purchases going earlier this summer, while Microsoft wasn’t set to start the program until the early fall release of Forza Horizon 2. EA’s NFL Madden 15, however, popped up for pre-load last week.
Now Destiny, the upcoming shooter from Activision and Bungie, is available on Xbox One. While Sony’s pre-load of the title starts on Sept. 7, Microsoft’s purchase page lists no such limitation.
Similar to what we saw with NFL Madden 15, the standard edition of the game is not available, but the version bundled with pre-order bonuses goes for the same price, $59.99. There’s also the Digital Guardian Edition, available for $89.99 which includes, along with special armor and the like, eventual access to two downloadable missions.
