Dark Souls Follow-Up Bloodborne Gets Japanese Release Date

As part of Sony’s pre-TGS 2014 press conference held on Monday, Sony and From Software presented a new trailer for From’s upcoming title, Bloodborne.

At the end of the trailer was a surprise: Bloodborne will release in Japan on Feb. 2, 2015.

For American fans of From Software’s brutal combat games, this gives us a rough idea of when we can expect to see the title.

Given Sony’s increased focus on western audiences – the PlayStation 4 is doing gangbusters in the United States and Europe, but struggling in Japan – it’s possible we may see the game release here at the same time or very close to it. At the very least, we know that Sony and From feel the game is less than six months away from completion. If it doesn’t show up to keep us occupied until The Witcher 3 and Batman: Arkham Knight come out at the end of February, the game could easily be in our hands before E3 2015.

Either way, Bloodborne isn’t as far off as many had originally thought. 2015 is already shaping up to be another great year for games.
