Samsung this week released an odd series of new ads meant to tease its Note 4, which will be announced on Sept. 3 (just days away!). Each individual ad—four in total—focuses on “famous” Internet personalities and why they’re stoked on Samsung’s new flagship device.
Are these ads jokes? They’re not? I thought maybe they were parodies.
For example, Mark Hunter, famous for taking pictures at parties around the Los Angeles area, uses the Note because of the screen size and S Pen. Diva Dompe, meanwhile, uses the Note because it’s punk and lets her do “everything from a DIY philosophy.”
The constant throughout is the Note’s S Pen, which each of the four people featured claim they use on a daily basis. Samsung has made the stylus a prominent feature in the Note lineup, and we’ve seen more than a few ads over the past weeks highlighting the accessory’s capabilities.
These four videos are certainly different from the usual Samsung marketing we see, that’s for sure.
“When you’re writing, it’s like you’re handwriting,” Hunter exclaims.
Samsung’s Note 4 is shaping up to be the company’s best ever device, and the S Pen will no doubt be its defining feature. At least, that’s what we gather from all the company’s recent marketing activity. We’ll see what it offers next week.
