The PlayStation Network is Down Again – Sony is Working On It

by Joey Davidson | August 26, 2014August 26, 2014 7:27 am PST

It looks like the same group that DDOS’d the PlayStation Network over the weekend is back at it today. The PlayStation Network is down as of 10:21am EST on August 26th, 2014.

The group that claimed responsibility for the first attack, Lizard Squad, took to Twitter this morning to call Sony out. We assume this happened before they initiated their attack today.

Sony’s since then said that they are completely aware of the outage and have engineers working on a fix. This is the last official tweet regarding the server status from the company.

Lizard Squad also seems to be poking fun at Sony and their potential employment of a company named Prolexic. That company supplies web security, something I assume Sony wished they had more of this morning.

Depending on the length of the outage, we’ll either update this post when the network is live or start another one.

Good thing this is happening during the week and not over a weekend, right?

What do you think of these attacks?

Update: While it’s still down for me, some users are reporting the PSN is up and fully functional.

Update X2: This tweet was fired off by Sony a few hours back. Connectivity is still intermittent on my end.
