The Vanishing of Ethan Carter Gets 13 Minute Gameplay Video and Release Date

Based solely on art style alone, I’ve been interested in The Vanishing of Ethan Carter ever since its reveal. Beyond those early pieces of media, I haven’t really been following the game too much. That was a decision I purposely made.

The gameplay trailer that you see above, then, sort of surprised me. I expected a faster and scarier game than this, though what we see here is still interesting.

The video’s YouTube description offers a bit of insight regarding exactly what The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is all about.

The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is a first-person story-driven mystery game focused on exploration and discovery. As occult-minded private detective Paul Prospero communicate with the dead to discover the fate of a missing boy and the mystery behind a dark ancient force lurking in Red Creek Valley.

The Astronauts, developers of this game, released more than just a trailer. We also have a firm Sept. 25, 2014 PC release date. They even dropped a fancy official website on us, so check that out.

The Vanishing of Ethan Carter looks like an interesting adventure. Will you pick it up?
