Earlier this week we found ourselves wondering why all of our favorite Nexus devices were disappearing from Google Play, but now we may have an answer. A new leak from Twitter tipster @upleaks claims HTC’s rumored stock Android tablet, allegedly codenamed the HTC T1, will hit the market by early October.
HTC T1 will be released before Oct 9.

If HTC’s Nexus tablet is in fact released by Oct. 9 we’re guessing we’ll also see Android L get an official launch around the same time, since Google usually times its new hardware and software to hit the market together. A few older Nexus devices are already capable of running the Android L beta, but once the updated operating system is released we’ll see it spread to even more smartphones and tablets.
Based on earlier leaks we’re expecting the upcoming Nexus tablet to come equipped with a super-fast Tegra K1 processor, a 2560 x 1600-pixel display, an 8-megapixel rear camera, 4GB of RAM and a metal design. We’re still not sure whether Google will call it the Nexus 8 or the Nexus 9, though it looks like the screen size will fall somewhere between 8 and 9-inches across its diagonal. Rumor has it we may also get an LTE-capable version of the new device, though it might take a bit longer for that model to launch.
