HTC currently offers two main smartphone lineups. There’s the flagship aluminum One (M8) and all its metal variants, but there’s also the plastic Desire family of smartphones that typically come in at more affordable price points. We’re not expecting a fresh flagship phone from HTC anytime soon, but it looks like the company may offer up a new Desire handset in the very near future.
The Taiwanese company teased the potential new smartphone on Wednesday through its Weibo account, using the popular Chinese social network to show off a new image along with the number 820. This is the first time we’ve heard about a device with that name, though considering HTC already offers the Desire 816 it makes sense the company could be planning another phone in that family.
If HTC is planning to unveil a Desire 820 we’re guessing it could make an appearance next month at IFA. The company still hasn’t revealed any public plans for the Berlin tech show, but with pretty much every major competitor gearing up to announce new products we wouldn’t be surprised to see HTC get in on the fun as well.
