When I think back to my time with Far Cry 3 (and, subsequently, Blood Dragon), I always consider all of the ways I cleared situations. With an ever present collection of animals and explosives, every single battle felt that much more dynamic and unique.
The video you see above comes from PlayStation, and it highlights that exact aspect of Far Cry 4 as a goal for the developers from Ubisoft. They’ve been making this game with open-ended combat and exploration in mind, and that’s part of what made the last entry so intriguing and addictive.
They also hit on the cooperative experience of the game. It’s separate from the main campaign, but it goes down in the same open world of your single player campaign. It’s just that the single player stuff disappears, and the cooperative stuff shows up. When your friend (or friends) leave, the game goes back to single player mode.
That seamlessness, if delivered, sounds awesome.
Far Cry 4 is set to release for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on Nov. 18. We’ll have more on the crazy looking game as it comes.
