ESPN App For Pebble Smartwatch Now Available

Pebble’s smartwatches still offer, we find, the best experience to consumers looking for a fully functional smartwatch with plenty of applications. Today, the company added the official ESPN application to the Pebble app store.

The application allows you to keep track of recent sports scores across a variety of leagues, including the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL and NCAA and can even keep you up to date on two games at once, complete with the current phase of the game (quarter, half, etc.) and the time remaining. Your Pebble smartwatch will vibrate each time the score changes or the game updates, which could admittedly get annoying in high-scoring games like basketball. Pebble also said you can flick the app to update on demand or flick to see the time.

Some of those features were already available if you just let your ESPN app ping your Pebble with alerts, but this seems much more fully functional. The app supports Pebble smartwatches connected to both iOS and Android smartphones and is available now. We’ve included a link to the Pebble Store in the source of this article.
