500GB Drive Announced for Xbox 360

To say that the Xbox 360 is a bit long in the tooth is an understatement. Even so, the system is still selling, and more of the games are available digitally than ever before.

Even the 250GB hard drive that comes with the Xbox 360 Slim isn’t exactly cutting it anymore.┬áTo solve that problem, Microsoft has announced a 500GB hard drive, just like the Xbox One, coming soon for Xbox 360.

The drive, as Joystiq notes, is $20 cheaper than the current 320GB drive, debuting at $110. That’s still about twice the price of a similarly sized laptop drive, but this is the last generation in which we’ll have to deal with that problem.

Microsoft’s monster drive is simply “coming soon,” and is compatible with the Xbox 360 Slim and Xbox 360 E. Bad luck for the three people that still have working original Xbox 360 consoles.
