Galaxy Mega 2: Get Ready For Samsung’s Big New Smartphone

The Galaxy Mega may not be Samsung’s most powerful or popular smartphone, but if you want a big screen above all else it’s probably your go-to handset. Recent rumors suggest the company could unleash a follow-up Galaxy Mega 2 any day now, and now a new leak appears to confirm the device really is on the way.

SamMobile just got its hands on the firmware for an upcoming smartphone with the model number SM-G750. We’ve seen that number pop up a few times already in connection with the rumored Galaxy Mega 2, so it seems likely this software is meant for the same device. Unfortunately, the firmware doesn’t reveal much beyond confirming that the rumored smartphone will run Android 4.4.4 out of the box, but thanks to a few earlier leaks we already have a pretty good sense of what to expect.

The Galaxy Mega 2 will reportedly come equipped with a 5.98-inch 720p display, a Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor, a 13-megapixel camera, 2GB of RAM and 8GB of storage with a microSD slot for adding more space. Like we said, this probably won’t be the most powerful device on the market, but it’s likely to be the biggest Samsung smartphone available in most markets.

If you prefer the latest specs over extra screen space we’d recommend the Galaxy S5 instead, or better yet the Galaxy Note 4, which is pretty much confirmed to launch early next month at an upcoming Samsung Unpacked event.
