Swarm Now Available for Windows Phone

Earlier this year, Foursquare announced its intentions to split its existing application into two separate apps: Swarm and Foursquare. The former offers the same sort of check-ins and badge system that we’re used to, while the latter is more of a Yelp competitor that’s built to show you places you might want to eat. Swarm initially launched on iOS and Android and, today, it’s available for Windows Phone.

The Swarm experience on Windows Phone is similar to on other platforms, in that you can check-in to nearby places of interest and view where your friends are, all of whom are separated by distance (nearby, within a mile, within 5 miles and far, far away.) There’s also the option to create events and favorite check-ins.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t appear that Foursquare added any special Windows Phone features to Swarm. Live tiles don’t appear to be supported right now, for example. Hit the source link below to visit the Windows Phone Store.
