When Samsung’s new three-sided smartphone launches later this year, it might be released under the “Note Edge” moniker. A new trademark discovered by Galaxy Club reveals the Edge name, though that’s about all the information we have to go off of at the moment. However, with promise that Samsung is planning to release a device with a screen that wraps around the edges, the name has a nice ring to it.
Samsung has vaguely hinted that the company’s roadmap will feature some innovative ideas, and we’ve seen devices teased before with screens that spill over the edges. An earlier report said such a device could enter mass production before the end of the year, so we could see Samsung’s unique new phone fairly soon.
Fans can already purchase the company’s Galaxy S5, along with a number of exciting tablets and wearable devices. But it sounds like Samsung’s roadmap for the rest of the year will be even more incredible, with the prospect of a Note 4, VR headset and now the Edge, which could be one of the stranger device’s we’ve ever seen.
Samsung has an event planned for Sept. 3, where we’re expecting a Note 4 announcement, along with the possibility of a VR headset. Could we see the Galaxy Note Edge also make an appearance. Unlikely, but we’ll find out soon enough.
