Square’s Latest Service Will Help You Schedule Appointments

Square already makes it easy to pay with a credit card at small businesses that might have been cash-only just a few years ago, and now the company is offering a new service designed to help you book appointments in advance. Square Appointments was unveiled earlier today and it introduces a simple solution for businesses that need a better way to manage appointments online.

Before now, the service was available to a small group of beta testers, but today it’s open to all businesses even if they don’t use a Square Reader to accept payments. The new app is built into Square dashboard for businesses and starts at $30 per month for individuals, $50 for a business with 2-5 employees or $90 for 10 employees or more.

The service also comes with a free booking website if your business doesn’t already have its own site, and easy-to-use scheduling software that lets you know whenever a customer sets an appointment. Meanwhile, customers will be able to more easily book appointments online, and Square Appointments even sends them reminders via text message or email so they don’t forget.

It sounds like a great solution for small businesses still struggling to go digital, especially since you don’t need a Square account or even a website to sign up. It’s also a smart way to get more companies into Square’s ecosystem, which already extends to food delivery and pickup along with the credit card scanner that started it all.
